Given the rapid growth in the transport sector over the last 10-20 years as well as Malaysia’s position
as a transport hub for Southeast Asia region, there is a need for an overarching national transport policy.
The National Transport Policy (NTP) was developed
through close collaboration between the government
and private sector. Since September 2016, over 150
members from the government, academia and
representatives of the private sector convened in a
series of workshops, focus group discussions and
meetings.
